Drying Flowers

There are two methods to dry this flower: a) hang drying b) Using Silica Gel. Hang drying flowers in my experience has been the most efficient technique with the least amount of time required. The flowers can be hung on a coat hanger near a window which is south facing( likely to receive more light). b) Apply the Silica Gel method. Use a plastic container and allow the silica to cover the flowers. Silica gel is a porous granular form of silica dioxide. Despite its name it is not actually a gel but a solid material that looks like small glassy beads of crystals. And yes it is the small packet often found in shoes, packages for electronics and clothes as it can be used to prevent moisture damage.

Christmas Time

Artisan Lanterns can be used on the Christmas dining table. My favourite is from Nkuku, which have elegant lanterns which will create a charming atmosphere. In addition other pieces such as their festive bulbs and decorations make perfect gifts or stocking fillers. Many of Nkuku items contains classic items which can last for generations to come from. Christmas Trees ( real ) can be purchased form the larger super market stores such as B&Q; Homebase, Wickes Waitrose and Ikea. However, for some other places for real and artificial trees, the White Company on line have a 6ft Pre - Lit Spruce Christmas Tree at £375.00 To add natural touches think of adding burlap runners, acorns, or cinnamon sticks tied with twin around napkins.

Desgin Your soya wax for the Christmas mould
Many moulds can be purchased on line to create yout home tailoted ornaments for the Christmas Tree.

Design is by preferene but you can consider designing the moulds with many herbs and spices from your kitchen. For example below is a link of spcies that can be sprinkled on mould:

Cinammon
Cloves
dried lemon and Oranges
Nutmeg(whole)
Fengueek Seed
Black Pepper
Hibiscus
Rosemary
White peppercorns
Thyme
Rosemary

In my experience of making this, less is always more so this can be presented liberally on the Soya Wax.

Once completed the pieces can also be used as centre pieces to decorate the chrismas table.

Alternatively you can keep the noulds plain and sill create a stunning look.
